What is Your True Purpose in Life?
Clients often ask me, “What is my true purpose here on earth?” Or, “What is my purpose in life?”
Oh, how I wish that I could tell them… or even give them a glimpse. But I cannot. It is not my place. This is a journey that each of us must travel for ourselves. A lesson we must learn on our own in order to gain the most benefit.
For any Psychic or Reader to tell you your purpose would be “cheating” and the lesson would be lost on you. It is important that you live out your true purpose on your own.
There is no right or wrong answer to the question, “What is my purpose in this life?” Look within and find what brings you the most joy.
Some people believe the purpose of life is to be happy, to make a lot money, success or to just live the best life possible. While I would agree with that last one, I also believe the purpose of life is to benefit others in some way.
Ancient Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle said, “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.”
Story continues below…
Happiness is all well and good but I choose to live my life by what Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
I believe that by living to benefit others in some way will ultimately make us happy as human beings. Be it as a teacher, volunteer, philanthropist or any number of other roles that place you in the service of others. Living your life to help others even in some small way will work for you to serve your true purpose here on earth.
You need not find the cure for cancer or be a servant of God and the people like Mother Teresa. You need only strive to benefit those around you in a positive way by simply extending a kind word or gentle helping hand. Smile. Hold the door open for someone struggling. There are any number of ways you can benefit others and most of them do not cost a dime.
If you feel or sense that something is missing in your life, please try to find a way to benefit others and self-satisfaction will follow. Also, you will be paying it forward and paving the way for something kind and generous to be done to or for you.
Tamara’s Verdict
I was fortunate and stumbled upon my true purpose by accident through working with others in my capacity as a Reader/Medium/Psychic. Yet, I still make it a point each day to do or say something positive to at least one person. All of these things bring me joy which, I suppose, makes me happy. So, if The Dalai Lama is correct and, “The very purpose of life is to be happy,” then I am SO WINNING!!
