Tarot Card Draw #1: Eight of Cups

The Eight of Cups often represents walking away from people or situations that have been dragging you down. You are escaping a bad situation and putting yourself in a position to create a more positive atmosphere for yourself. Know that it really is ok to cut toxic people out of your life, even if it is a family member. This card could also indicate that you are feeling abandoned by someone close to you, or that something or someone near you has betrayed you. By calling this person out or rectifying the situation or the something, you will be taking a stand and exerting that you know your own worth. In your romantic life, if you are in a relationship, the Eight of Cups indicates that either you or your partner are feeling neglected or abandoned. Someone’s needs are not being met in your relationship, and it is taking a great toll on your connection. Sometimes, this card also indicates walking away from a toxic relationship or turning your back on any issues and conflicts you have had with your partner. Before throwing in the towel on your relationship, please seriously weigh up all the pros and cons and try to enlist your partner to work *with* you to salvage the relationship and hopefully build it back up so that it is even better and stronger than it ever was before. If you are looking for a relationship, the Eight of Cups indicates you are weary of finding love for fear of heartbreak, or that some abandonment issues from your past are causing you to be apprehensive of any potential partners or connections. Look deep within yourself to learn and understand what is causing these insecurities you are struggling with. If you struggle letting go of the past and your insecurities, please consider seeking out the assistance of a counselor to help you process things. In your career, you might be on the verge of abandoning a job that is no longer fulfilling to you. Your current career is likely not meeting your needs as well as you’d like, and you are considering a change. Walking away and making a major life change might be beneficial for you.

Tarot Card Draw #2: Four of Cups

Occasionally, the Four of Cups will turn up for you in a daily draw or tarot spread indicating you have either lost touch with reality or are in danger of doing so. It is possible you have convinced yourself that everyone around you has a life so much easier than you as you are constantly struggling. You may be thinking that life on the other side would be so much sweeter and better, yet all you need do to have a better life is expend more effort. We often hear of musical artists being an “overnight success”, but that is very, VERY rarely the case. Not many fans know of the struggles and sacrifices that artist had to make nor are they aware of all dive bars and county fairs that artist may have played in during their rise to the top. While “family money” is a real thing among quite a few of the wealthy, there are just as many, if not more, who had to struggle from the very bottom rung of the ladder working their way up. These highly successful people likely had to make many sacrifices and bargains along the way. You are most definitely capable of doing the same. Yet your current mindset is preventing you from seeing what you can accomplish if you just set your mind to it. You have become disillusioned with your own life. It is possible you are allowing yourself to get lost in thoughts of the past and possibly holding a more idealized view of how things really were. This often happens when we have suffered a major personal loss be it to death, breakup, whatever may have torn you and your loved one apart. This card may indicate you are caught up in a fantasy world and giving in to frequent daydreaming. While this could definitely benefit you as you work to build the life and relationships you most desire, just be careful to not set up camp there and lose your grip on reality and what/who is most important. The Four of Cups often indicates you have allowed yourself to simply give in to a negative way of thinking. The negative is easier, it can often be comfortable, and it requires almost no effort. It is the path of least resistance. It is also the path with the least reward. The path of the lazy person who expects everyone else to do the work rather than working hard and earning/manifesting what you most desire. You have become bored. Possibly you have lost your motivation or zeal for life choosing to simply sit on the sidelines as life passes you by. While the Four of Cups could indicate missed opportunities, it is also a big green flag waving to get your attention and help you step outside yourself, step out of your comfort zone and just take charge. Your life is your own to create the person you most aspire to be and to have the things you most desire as well as the personal connections you most desire and need. Alternatively, it can turn up to bring your attention to feelings you may be experiencing of loss, regret and remorse. It is possible you have become lost within yourself due to the overwhelming negative thoughts or even depression. Lastly, getting the Four of Cups could be turning up for you to help you be more open to any new opportunities coming to you. Do not be too quick to dismiss them as you may come to regret not at least giving it (them) more thought. Due to the aforementioned negative thought process, you may not be able to see the potential in these opportunities. Taking a couple of steps back and trying to be more objective, or maybe even discussing the opportunities with a trusted person will help you to be more open to the potential. Pull on your big people underwear and take your life back from the darkness!

Tarot Card Draw #3: The High Priestess, reversed

Probably the most important meaning of The High Priestess is trusting your own intuition. When this lovely lady falls in the reverse position in your daily draw, she is there to warn that you are not heeding your own intuition. It is possible you are placing more value on what other people around you may feel is the right decision for you or the correct path you should take. Possibly you are more concerned with pleasing someone else to the detriment of ignoring your own better judgement or intuition. Heed what your gut is telling you. She is coming up in your daily draw to bring these things to your attention so you can work to separate what is going on in your head due to so much outside influence and listen to what your spirit and core being are encouraging you to do. Be true to yourself and take charge of your life. Your own gut intuition will always point you in the right direction and help you to make the best possible decisions for yourself and anyone who may be affected by that. The High Priestess may also turn up reversed for you if you have been neglecting yourself in favor of caring for others. You have been putting yourself last and your own needs and desires are not being met. It is time for some self-care, maybe even a spa day or a weekend away in the country away from the hustle of everyday life. Consider unplugging for a day; a *no-screen day* just to refresh and recharge yourself. You need to get back in touch with your core being / inner spirit. The High Priestess, reversed, may also come up to remind you that you have all of the wisdom and knowledge needed within you to make the right choice and succeed. Just be still and listen.
