Jim Bakker: Hurricane Harvey Is God’s ‘Judgment’ So Hurry Up and Buy My Doomsday Food!

Hey, there is nothing wrong with making a buck but at the expense of others tragedy. Yuck! Jim Bakker, whose past history as a televangelist would make most people blush with the sex scandals, fraud, gay affairs, incarceration and just overall fleecier of the believers is at it again. His new shtick is that God is going to protect you from all the world’s perversion and nuclear doomsday. All you have to do is buy your way into heaven by buying his Doomsday Food. So, in order to survive the nuclear ending (yeah, right out of the “Walking Dead” series) you MUST buy his “Doomsday Food” to keep you alive when others will perish under God’s judgement. Excuse me a moment to go vomit! Lol!

Now the disgraced televangelist is turning the tragedy of the hurricanes and flooding into another marketing opportunity. Jim Bakker claims Hurricane Harvey was God’s “judgment” on the city of Houston, where the storm killed at least 60 and left thousands homeless. And naturally, he used his gloom-and-doom scenario as part of a sales pitch to sell his buckets of instant apocalypse food. “I have felt ― and I was afraid to share it with anybody, that this flood is from God,” he said on a clip posted online by Right Wing Watch. “It’s a judgment on America somehow.” His guest, “prophet” Rick Joyner, agreed. “We have to stand up against the perversion of our times and call it what it is,” Joyner said.

At various points in the segment, as they spoke of Houston and God’s wrath, Bakker brought out buckets of food on sale for $175. “Just remember, God gets the last word,” Bakker warned. “God gets the last word. Be not deceived, God is not mocked.” Bakker built a Christian TV empire worth $180 million in the 1980s, but resigned in shame after a sex scandal and eventually served four years in prison for fraud. He has since remade himself into a doomsday preacher hawking survivalist food and other prepper supplies to help Christians stay alive during the upcoming “tribulation” period that will supposedly last for several years. He has also made the comments about prosperity not being the way for Christians? He is quoted as saying that while he was in prison: “The more I studied the Bible, however, I had to admit that the prosperity message did not line up with the tenor of Scripture. My heart was crushed to think that I led so many people astray. I was appalled that I could have been so wrong, and I was deeply grateful that God had not struck me dead as a false prophet!”

Susan Z’s Conclusion:

He might not be so lucky this time when God tastes that $175 bucket of goop he is pedaling. It has always intrigued me about the televangelists who preach against other people and beliefs actually buy into what they are saying or is all about the money? I believe in the case of Bakker, it was always about the money and still is.

Queen of Pentacles: Inverted (Upside Down)

Usually a woman where status is important and wants to be of service. Since pulled inverted, I feel the card shows Bakker’s weakness in his desire to be of service is women and money.

Eight of Swords:

Fear keeping you bound and unable to make a decision. I believe this is Bakker’s questioning faith and doubts but pushes them aside as long as it is making him a living.

Four of Pentacles: Inverted

Financial issues and obsession with materialism. Inverted I feel is shows that Bakker misses his opulent lifestyle that his fraudulent ministry brought him and if he had the credibility, he would do it all over again exactly the same way.
